Safer Spaces Policy
Inkling is commited to being a space which stands against oppression. The following is our active, practice based Safer Spaces Policy.
Zero Tolerance on Oppressive Behaviour
Racism, sexism, classism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, ableism, fatphobia, ageism or discrimination on basis of ethnicity, immigration status, or religious, cultural, and/or spiritual beliefs, or any other kind of oppressive behaviour is unacceptable and will be challenged. This includes any form of oppressive artwork which perpetuates stereotypes, spreads misinformation or is inherently oppressive to others.
Zero Tolerance on Harassment
There is a zero tolerance policy to all forms of harassment. This means no unwanted touching, including hugs, so please make sure you have consent before engaging in any physical contact with someone. Harassment can take the form of inappropriate jokes or stories, which are not tolerated within the space.
Assumptions
Don’t make assumptions about someone’s identity. Be aware that your experiences are not necessarily the same as everybody else in the room.
Pronouns
A pronoun is how you refer to someone, for example using he, she or they. Use their correct pronouns, even if it is not familiar to you. If you make a mistake and refer to someone with the wrong pronoun, apologise and move on.
Social Media
Everything in this safer spaces agreement also extends to social media, including Instagram and Tik Tok. All records including photography will be subject to signing release forms at events, and you have the right to with-hold consent to being in any record of workshops or events.
