Inkling’s mission is to be a radical, sustainable communtiy print publishing hub in the southside of Glasgow.
Inkling is independent, queer and neuro-divergent led. We operate by a small set of practical values which shape everything we do.
- Artistic Exploration and Production: the studio is a place where artists and communities come together to test ideas, share skills, and develop new approaches to print publishing. By providing tools, space, and peer support we enable the production of new work which would not emerge within traditional art education structures.
- Solidarity and Radical Access: Inkling prioritises intersectional accessibility and inclusivity, recognising that marginalised identities and experiences face barriers to accessing studio time, training, and facilities. We operate under the principles of liberation, and commit to placing resources toward platforming marginalised voices.
- Local, Independent Organising: We support local community action by participating in radical, grassroots organising and mutual aid. Our peer-led model supports individuals to develop skills in Risograph printing and small-scale publishing, growing local knowledge and giving space for collective action.
Inkling is independent, not a project or an arm of a larger organisation. Therefore we have our own policies which reflect our ethics and guide our working practices.
